Mere Mortals Album
Visual Identity, 2026
An album is usually something to listen to; this project was conceived to set it free.
Led by HAMILL INDUSTRIES, with graphic design by T.O.T Studio, the creative direction and art concept for Mere Mortals by Floating Points (the original soundtrack for the San Francisco Ballet) span the entire visual universe, encompassing the visual identity, cover artwork, packaging, and video visualisers.
Framing the physical album as Pandora’s box, the concept centres on Hope, represented by the silhouette of ballet dancers’ hands shaped like bird wings, trapped in a burning world. By removing the transparent sleeve featuring a red flame motif, the user reveals the vinyl inside, turning the act of unboxing into a physical gesture of setting Hope free.
